Our Director

Gerrit Bruwer  

Gerrit has been actively involved in Law Enforcement and investigations for many years. Having spent 18 years in the South African Police Service, with units such as Commercial Crime, Organised Crime and Asset Forfitment. After leaving SAPS, he was employed at one of the leading corporate law firms within South Africa. After which he became founding member and established a forensic company called Nexus Forensics. Gerrit has the ability of handling of confidential information and applying the ethical rule, taking ownership of problems and offering solutions rather than just identifying problems and establishing a high standard of business conduct and adhering to the code of business

Johan Van Der Westhuizen

National Operational Manager

Johan started his career within the South African Police in 1989. Johan was placed as Head of the Crime prevention Unit within Hermanus. He was also one of the founding members of the Neptune Unit, which operated from Hermanus area and was responsible for Western Cape and Overberg Area. Johan gained fast experience in the planning of operations, feedback on area level on crime statistics, compiling crime patterns and profiling crime syndicates.
After leaving the SAPS, Johan started his career within the security industry where he obtained training within the following fields: Risk Assessments, First Aid, Fire fighting, OHASA and Chemical spills. Johan was appointed in 2010 as the Security Manager for Arabella Estate, where he worked for 9 years. He obtained fast experience in Estate Management and continued with investigations on behalf of Arabella Estate. After leaving Arabella Estate, Johan joined the C-U-LIVE Team. Johan prides himself on attention to detail as well as interpersonal relationships and coping with pressure. He does well in pertaining to client liaisons and communication.

Herman Brummer

National Training Manager

Herman served in the SANDF as an instructor for many years. Due to his vast experience he acquired in the SANDF, he was nominated by the SAPS Regional Commissioner to undergo the full SAPS instructor course as a civilian. Herman joined the reservist force of the SAPS as an instructor, where he presented both firearms, special weapons and tactics courses to the reserve force in the Boland region. Herman was the Western and Southern Cape regional training manager for a prominent security company for 18 years. Herman is also a qualified VIP protection instructor, and is one of a few South Africans that completed the Master Drive Instructor qualification. Herman was also involved with roll-out security plans on various estates. Some of the prominent estates: Thesen Island, Fancourt and Pinnacle estates. Herman was one of the instructors tasked with training the prison wardens at Kutama Sinthumule Correctional Centre. Herman prides himself as a problem solver and solution finder. His love for people makes him a professional and a standout individual and therefore a big asset to our company.

 

Warick Gregory

National Technical Manager

Warick started in 2011 as an operator within the Production Industry. He soon worked his way up through dedication and productive attitude and was promoted to production line Manager. Due to Warick’s curiosity within the electronic environment he left production and joined C-U-LIVE in 2015 as technician within the electronic security industry.
Warick soon realized that Networking and more specific the wireless industry was drawing his attention. Through the years Warick went on various technical courses and built up his knowledge on all aspects of the electronic security industry, but more specific the IP Network environment. Warick is currently our national technical manager and truly understands the concept from system design, implementation and the connection between control rooms, hardware and software. Warick’s personal work ethic is based on being transparent, accountable and honest. He believes in having a positive and productive attitude and strives for professional and personal excellence.

Christine Coetzee

Financial / Admin Manager

Christine obtained a diploma at the University of Cape Town in Operations Management.
Christine worked within an Agriculture Environment where she was responsible for conducting Ethical & Manufacturing Audits for Retailers & Importers nationwide.
Christine joined C-U-LIVE in 2011, whereby she was given the responsibility for the following departments: Human Resource, Administration, Financial Systems.
Christine’s strong points is her capability to communicate, strategic planning and management.

Fanie Kirstein

Managing Consultant – Crime Prevention and Investigations

Fanie started his career within the South African Police in 1987, where he was promoted to officer (Captain) before leaving the SAPS during 2005.
He gained widespread experience within Crime Prevention, Crime detection, Crime Scenes Management, Investigations, Interviewing and Risk Assessments. He therefore understands the criminal law and judicial system. Fanie obtained his National Diploma in Police Administration with subjects like Criminal Law, Law of Criminal Procedures & Evidence, Investigation of Crime. After leaving the SAPS he joined the Banking Sector where he investigated numerous criminal syndicates targeting the financial sector. Fanie has more than 30 years’ experience within the investigation environment. During his career, Fanie testified in numerous court cases in different magistrate courts throughout South Africa.

Polygraph Examinations

Polygraph Examinations (Truth Verification / Lie Detection)

Investigative (Specific Cases/Issues – Criminal or Civil)

Used as an investigative tool when an alleged offence, such as theft, sexual harassment / crimes, substance abuse, or dishonesty, etc. has occurred in the workplace. It is very helpful to find the culprits & also to exonerate innocent parties in such matters. It has also been used to successfully recover stolen property and to hold culprits accountable.

Pre- Employment

Used as a screening tool to assist in making sure a company avoids recruiting “Rotten Apples”, and/or anyone with criminal or dishonest tendencies. (Also see Pre-Employment Vetting, below) 

Periodic Testing (Screening)

Seen as a helpful deterrent. It can be used annually, bi-annually, quarterly, or on an ad-hoc basis to do targeted or random testing of staff members to ensure a professional level of integrity & honesty in the workplace.
Polygraph examinations are used to establish any history of criminal activity, sexual harassment, absenteeism, alcohol / substance abuse, dishonesty, insubordination & previous dismissals, etc.

Infidelity

Usually requested by a spouse or partner to prove or disprove allegations surrounding infidelity.

Pre-Employment Vetting

This is a highly recommended service for clients who are looking to employ persons who will deal with money and/ or logistical items and/or equipment. It is also a useful tool to be used before hiring persons into executive positions, or any positions of trust.

Criminal record checks

We use biometric fingerprint scanning. Results are obtained within 48hours. We are linked through AFIS to the Police database. We are mobile and can offer this service at a location of your choice.
Qualification verification. This ensures that prospective employees have lawfully obtained the tertiary qualifications they claim and/or provide.
Credit Checks

Benefits of our Services

Our results can be used to help a stronger disciplinary case against dishonest employees and are acknowledged through the CCMA.
Examiners can provide expert witness testimony for legal proceedings
